Exhibitions In London Knowledge Base
Major art / museum exhibitions in London in January? I have a culture vulture friend coming to stay with me in London in January / February and want to take her to some big, exciting exhibitions - things like Turbine Hall now, Terracotta Warriors etc. - any ideas of where I can take her and what will be on around that time. I have no idea about culture so any help much appreciated!!
Any Photography exhibitions in London? I am hoping to go in to London tomorrow to look at a few exhibitions. In particular I would like to see photographs of landscapes, street/city photography, urban/rural photography, and possibly more conceptual stuff. Are there any specific galleries I should visit in London? Any smaller more intimate exhibitions?
Exhibitions/galleries in London to take a 9 yr old girl to? I want to take my niece out for the day and wondered if there are any parents out there who have been to anything decent recently? We will probably go to the Natural History Museum as, scandalously, she has not been there yet. Is there anything different that would compliment this? Or 2 totally different things altogether? (I hate touristy stuff generally, so anything obscure would be great) Cheap would be good also, if possible.
location of waxworks exhibit of Nazi atrocities in London 1945? Does anyone where the waxworks exhibition in London, in 1945, that showed "horrors of the concentration camp" was? There was also apparently an amusement centre for children. I'm wondering where this may have been. ps it wasn't the Imperial War Museum or Madame Tussaud... it was a small independent exhibition, not very professionally done, just a way to make some money...thanks!
London Exhibition Art? I am looking to exhibit a private art collection (African art) soon and need ideas of possible venues. I have about 30 paintings from various artists across Africa. Suggestions of alternative spaces/ warehouses are welcome. Not too expensive and anywhere in London.

Someone has advised me that it is £1.50 ph. Anyone know from experience? Just too add, I am very adept to driving in London, just have never stopped there!

Exhibition game in London? Every year, there's an AFL exhibition match held at the Oval cricket ground here in London at the end of October..this year's game sees Geelong meet Port Adelaide. It attracts big crowds, mainly of Aussies living in London but plenty of curious English as well. But does the match get much coverage or exposure in the media in Australia?

What to do in the London Fashion Week (Feb 10th-15th)? For your typical customer - not a journalist or a professional in the retailing business - is there anything for us in the event? Can we attend runway shows, or be let in for exhibitions? What else is there anyways? (Their webpage is not informative AT ALL!) I'd appreciate every word of answer!!
Are you going to the Tutankhamen Exhibition in London or The World for that matter? Answer yes; If you expect the GOLDEN MASK it is NOT there. Nor will it be anywhere else. The image on the advertising is of a small Coffinette that held his liver that has been cropped I feel dissapointed and yes would have tried to get my money back had there not been small print (approx 0.5mm high)saying the image displayed was not the mask. I missed this as a child in the 1970s(when the mask was included) so antisapated it being there. You may be Hugely dissapointed if you look for this as I expected it to be in the last room. As you enter each room the exhibition gets more spectacular till the room showing his funery artifacts, then enter the next portion, look right(no mask) look straight(no mask)look left and yes its the King TUT or is that TAT gift shop and way out. PS dont buy the Zahi Hawass hat, its poor quality overpriced and probably made in China rather than Egypt. Worth the money? Expect the mask = a BIG NO Don't expect the mask = it's a fair price Yes I did enjoy the exhibition. Dissapointed about the mask but now have searched reviews and cannot find a reference to the mask not being on display and ask myself if this is deliberate. I would love to ask the organisers why this ommision is not made clearer
Film London- Is It Really Acting Democratically????????? Two projects on which I`ve been working for the past decade and trying without success to involve VisitLondon and/or the BFI to support and endorse have been generated by Film Location. The first is an exhibition of London film location stills and the second is a map of London film locations. Should Film London be doing this in-house when there are those of us (who have been researching for decades) pounding the door/ asking for crumbs and want a chance to collaborate (on our own copyright)?
