Exhibitions/galleries in London to take a 9 yr old girl to? I want to take my niece out for the day and wondered if there are any parents out there who have been to anything decent recently? We will probably go to the Natural History Museum as, scandalously, she has not been there yet. Is there anything different that would compliment this? Or 2 totally different things altogether? (I hate touristy stuff generally, so anything obscure would be great) Cheap would be good also, if possible.

This bodies displayed will be an investigation report on 48hours tonight. The bodies displayed at the exhibited were purchased through a black market, human bodies believed to be prisoners in a china prison who were executed. Art Museums... How Do Artists Get In? Does anyone know how people get their artwork into museums/exhibitions? I'm REALLY curious! Does someone have to buy them, or does an artist have to prove worthy somehow by contacting the museum/exibition? I live in New Mexico, and I'm an artist, and I think I have a couple really worthwhile pieces, but don't know how to capture the attention of a public with them. I live in the middle of nowhere, as it is... we don't have alot of art (if hardly any) related things around here, it's mostly farming/ranching/dairy etc. I want to be able to sell my pieces in markets like Chicago, New York, ect... with me not having art shows or exhibitions near me, how can I get my artwork noticed? Southwest art sells around here... Pueblos, Indians, Cowboy paintings, and I'm some, but not much into drawing that. If people can splatter paint on a canvas and call it art, surely my stuff would sell, I do art... that actually looks like art haha! Anyone upto help me? 10 points for the most helpful answer!!

the creation museum? a museum is defined as: "A building, place, or institution devoted to the acquisition, conservation, study, exhibition, and educational interpretation of objects having scientific, historical, or artistic value" since creationism is none of these, is it wrong to call it a "museum"?
Santa Fe, Museum of Fine Arts.....? I visited the museum yesterday, and did not write down the name of this artist; now I can't find him. As you walk into "The Art & Artifice of Science" exhibition there is a digital video, 5 minutes in length, the evolution from fish to man. Does anybody know who did this? I've found the artists listed but, can't find out who did this.....(these are the only pictures I've been able to find, they're snapshots from the video) http://www.jivemagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?p=65384
Best 1st date Museum in NYC?? I'm looking for some suggestions for a great first date in NYC. Specifically at museums. Anyone know of any permanent exhibitions that would be great for open discussion and getting a chance to get to know someone? Or any other suggestions would be great too. Thanks in advance. Not sure why only 12 year olds would go to a museum for a date. Museums are predominantly frequented by adults and for the most part do not cater to children...even though they should. If you think museums are only for children you need to visit one.
What should become of the Titanic wreck? The wreck of the Titanic was found in 1985, and since 1987, at least 6000 artifacts have been recovered from the wreck, and are on a touring Titanic Artifact exhibition, held at various museums. The future of the wreck itself is uncertain- Should it be protected as an undersea gravesite, or should salvors be permitted to recover anything and everything from the wreck? Im a bit biased, I used to work at the Titanic Exhibitions as historian, but I would like to see the wreck protected- But do favor continued look-but don't touch- exploratory expeditions. At this time a good percentage of the artifacts that have been recovered that are not on display are sitting in storage- Hardly an environment condusive to proper restoration.
Can you please critique my poem about the Creation Museum? Today we went to the Creation Museum My wife, daughters and I To learn the truth the Bible way Without evolutionist lies We were so excited and full of joy To see the sacrifices, The infants, women, lambs and goats The dinosaurs and mices! We goose-stepped through there one by one Had lunch at Noah's Cafe Saw Adam and Eve's Tree of Sin And bought some Jesus taffy! A door adorned with gaping skull The scenes were copacetic! A room of pictorial genocides God's punishment for heretics We saw the Holocaust videos Projected on the walls How we wish our fellow Jews Had heeded the Good Lord's call The sign read "Those rejecting the Word Will suffer the Lord God's wrath" And torment shall rain down upon The wanderers from His path. We saw the Planetarium, The skies and moons and - dammit! We missed the exhibition of Our 4,000 year-old planet. Today we went to the Creation Museum, My wife, daughters and I And for those that don't believe It's a shame you're going to fry. Love & light . Emiliano - Yes, it was meant to be funny at first. Just like I thought the Creation Museum idea was funny at first. Then I saw the reality, and it's horrifying. I'm not going to lie about it. There was a room with Holocaust video projected from a wall-screen and the entrance to it had a sign about God punishing those who don't stay on the Christian path. Very, very sick stuff. A joke? Yes. A way to enlighten people about how very dangerous this place is? ABSOLUTELY. Bizriak - Apology accepted. Oh, and yes, prior to knowing if you're right or wrong you should never call the other party a clown. I will debate fairly with anyone but I will not allow this place to continue to be termed a "museum" with no age limit. The more people know about this sick place, the better. It should be shut down. Yes, I went to the creation museum. Yes, there was a sign at the door of the room where Holocaust videos were projected, and YES, I mean H-O-L-O-C-A-U-S-T videos, and it explained that this was God's retribution. "Punishment" for the Jews not obeying the Christian God (read that sign again if you want proof). What kind of clown would build a museum and put such sick, twisted things in it? Ken Ham is a sick moron and not quite as harmless as you seem to think. I was there, this was what I saw. There is NO MINIMUM AGE for children. Ken Ham and his little evil elves contocted this so that parents can instill the fear of God into their children and make them realize the (extreme, severe) punishments God will rain down upon them if they disobey. If you believe young children should have to watch Holocaust footage so they see the "Jew's punishment for disobeying God" than you, to me, are dangerous. Having read the Bible I do know why Jesus is seen as a kind, compassionate spirit. This is why I did not bring Jesus into it, except for the 'taffy' line. That is what they sold in the creaion museum store. I respect Christians who would fight with me to shut down this atrocity of a place because it goes against THEIR beliefs. There are lots of them here. You tell me to "get my accusations straight"? I accuse no one but the creators who go this museum and the ignorant, child-abusing morons who actually allow their children to see it (beyond the 'dinosaur' exhibit). My facts are straight. This was meant to be both humorous and horrifying. I wrote it in this form for the sole reason that it was more likely people would read it. That museum is horrifying, and I believe I have captured that feeling well. If you'd like a few pics of the creation museum to tickle your fancy and let you know I am being truthful, here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10129372@n0... http://www.flickr.com/photos/10129372@n0... And the sign at the entrance to the room of Holocaust video?: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10129372@n0... I hope this helps.

So my dog is a lesbian??? wtf? ok so there is this article that yahoo had on its homepage this morning...it was called Birds and bees may be gay: museum exhibition In it they talk about how there ARE gay animals...for example did you know that female swans will actually donate an egg to a gay male couple??? I KID YOU NOT!!! There is also a freakish comment on there about a museum that has an exhibit on gay animals and their behavior....in that exhibit there is a picture displaying two "giant erect penises" (whale penises, of course) rubbing together...is that not weird?? I mean when i go to a museum i dont really expect to see animal porn...but hey, i guess it could be worse??? I guess this means that my dog is a lesbian...cause she likes to hump our girl cats...but thats ok...i will accept her for who she is...im not judgemental...lmao What do you have to say about all this freaky stuff? do you think that they are looking too much into this "gay animal" stuff? or do you think they may really be on to something? well my dog did have to wear plaid panties when she started her first period....why do you ask buldawg???

(would like different answerers this time)? ok so there is this article that yahoo had on its homepage this morning...it was called Birds and bees may be gay: museum exhibition In it they talk about how there ARE gay animals...for example did you know that female swans will actually donate an egg to a gay male couple??? am i being unreasonable, unsupportive? i invited my boyfriend to come with me to a museum exhibition (for school) a week ago. He agreed. Now, two days ago he got free tickets to the Indy Race on the same day the exhibition is! He decided that he is going to the Indy Race. I am a bit hurt and not at all happy because i feel he is not honoring a commitment and he is disrespecting me by dropping me like a fly just because something better came up. He disagrees and says i am not being supportive and that he didnt ruin my plans because i can take anyone else. am i wrong to feel bad or should i be happy cuz he has free tickets? this is the second time he does this... and i would LOVE to go the the Indy Race but i HAVE to be at the museum for extra points (and i need them).
why do people still say homosexuality is unnatural even though its been found in the animal world too? On Thursday October 12 2006 The Natural History Museum, University of Oslo, opened the first-ever museum exhibition dedicated to gay animals. Today we know that homosexuality is a common and widespread phenomenon in the animal world. Not only short-lived sexual relationships, but even long-lasting partnerships; partnerships that may last a lifetime. The exhibit displays a small selection of the more than 1500 species where homosexuality has been observed. This fascinating story of the animals' secret life is told by means of models, photos, texts and specimens. The visitor will be confronted with all sorts of creatures from tiny insects to enormous spermwhales
Can a native English speaker proofread this text, please? ART AND ARTIST Whenever I read about the lives of big artists whose fame is increasing day by day and crossing international borders,it surprises me a lot to find out that they are humans like anybody else and all ups and downs they have ever had are quite familiar with the ordinary people as well. Therefore,I am totally convinced that the attributes possessed by big artists may well be possessed by an efficient blacksmith, too.I guess extolling them so frequently makes them unapproachable and prevents the art and the artist from entering our daily lives.Art,consequently, remains cofined to museums, exhibitions and books. The life would be more enjoyable as long as the art were involved in our daily lives and artists had the common touch.
American Hist. Homework??? I just need help gettin started or some small ideas or something: It is 1776. Write a three to five paragraph letter to your sister in England explaining your decision to participate in the rebellion against Britain. Be sure to list three reasons for your support of the rebellion against Britain and include any reasons you could sympathize with Britain. How much does it cost to form a not for profit corporation [foundation]? What is the proceedure? I am working with the estate of a famous Fine Artist and the Estate wishes to form a foundation and place all of the artwork presently owned by the benificiaries of the Estate under the ownership of the Foundation for purposes of educational museum exhibition, scholorly research, etc... What type of foundation should we form for this purpose? How much should we expect our lawyer to charge? There are about 150 artworks and 1 piece of real estate that will be intitially contributed to the foundation. We will be working in the state of Michigan when forming the foundation. The benificiaries of the Estate are also willing to provide substantial funding to the Foundation for its upkeep and promotion.
Creationists - have you ever been to a natural history museum? Or even visited any of the available online sites? http://www.fieldmuseum.org/evolvingplanet/ http://www.amnh.org/exhibitions/permanent/other/evolution.html http://www.nmnh.si.edu/paleo/geotime/ Are you willing to invest a bit of time toward your education? Yes, I have read the Bible. Small but fierce - it's clear that you don't know the meaning of scientific theory.
