Producing Trade Shows/Expos?

I have an idea for a trade show/expo and need info. on how to produce one. Do I need to speak with my cities chamber of commerce, or directly jump into searching for sponsers? This is the kind of info. I need. The more detailed the better please. Thanks UnionBoy, so to verify, I DO NOT need special permission? I can just start contacting vendors, locations, etc... oops Sorry I meant "YOUNG" Boy. (LOL)

  1. I have promoted shows all over the country. Having an idea is one thing having the dough to make it happen is another. To explain what is needed would take hours of typing, so here's a quick start. Contact the facility you are going to put this on at and start getting numbers. They are going to want a insurance cert running to them, who will sell the tix them or you, are they a union shop...yada yada yada. That's just for starters. ******************** No one is going to buy space until you can figure out what sizes the various booths will be. You can't do that until you figure out where it will be held. That's when you will have to put a deposit down to lock in the date and they will ask for a min 1 ML dollar insurance cert. The people your selling too will also want to know what advertsing you will do. No one will pay you for a booth if they don't feel anyone will show up.
