Open Exhibitions/ Artists Exhibitions?

I'm looking for an open exhibition that i could try and get my art work into in/near leeds. can any one help? i've already tried looking at Leeds art galleiry, and mean to ring them up, but there web sites usesless. Is there any where else? and what would i have to do?

1. Those kinds of exhibition are often run by art students or art groups. You may want to look for local schools or groups, maybe at the library.
