What movie should I pick for my psychology assignment?

As part of the assignment, we're supposed to select a movie and note all correlations between content of movie and the content learned in class. What are some good movies out there, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A BEAUTIFUL MIND, in which the main character or characters exhibit strongly any topic discussed in a general psychology course? The key word here is "strongly" as just about any movie could fall in that category.

  1. Maybe Rain Man, I am Sam... or Silence of the Lambs that would be a good one.... pick Silence of teh Lambs
  2. "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" is a great one that deals with mental health So is "The Breakfast Club"...can discuss socialization and interactions of differing peer groups "The Burning Bed" addresses domestic violence and the psychological impact it has on behaviour "American Psycho" looks at sociopathic behaviours "Boys Don't Cry" looks at gender identity hope that helps. :) and yes...I was a psych major :))
  3. i'm a psych major student.. we had a movie review when i was in 2nd year college...we watched Rainman and Shawshank Redemption... (i like shawshank better than rainman).. two great psychological movies! interesting movies and it will help a lot on your papers! :) goodluck! u can do it!
  4. If you don't want a movie that most other people will be doing, why not "It's a wonderful life". It's about suicide and depression in men - men who live in the suburbs, have the 9 to 5 job and seemingly perfect families.
  5. It's an overlooked gem, but try "Mad Love" with Drew Barrymore and Chris O'Donnell. It's a very authentic portrayal of bipolar disorder. "Girl Interrupted" is great too, but a more obvious choice.
  6. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
